County Competitions

Mackenzie Shield

The Mackenzie Shield was presented to the county by the Hon. Datine Mackenzie, Chief Commissioner for Malaya.  It was won in its first year by 1st Haddington Guides.  The competition is held bi-annually for Guide Units. 

The winners in 2017 were 1st Aberlady Guides.

Next Competition is in 2019.

County Flag Competition

The County Flag Competition started in 1919.  It was won the first time by Saltoun Company. The competition is held bi-annually for Guide Units.

The 2018 winners were 9th Musselburgh Guides.

Next competition is in 2018.

Mackenzie Silver Salver

Mrs Mackenzie donated a Silver Salver to the County in 1993.  Brownie units compete to win the salver bi-annually.

The 2017 winners were 2nd Belhaven Brownies.

Next competition is in 2019.

Evlyn Anderson Shield

Following the untimely death of Evlyn Anderson, County Commissioner for East Lothian from 1989-1993, her family presented the County with the Evlyn Anderson Shield which is competed for annually in turn by all sections.  The competition is based on the Arts, one of Evlyn's loves.

The 2017 winner 1st Belhaven Guides.

Next competition is for Senior Section in 2018.
