At our beacon event on Thursday 2 June, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a very special presentation was made to our County Commissioner, Lorraine.

Carol Morwood, Deputy Scottish Chief Commissioner, presented Lorraine with the Scottish Chief Commissioner’s Award for her outstanding contribution to guiding in Scotland.

Letters of commendation had been sent from several of our members to support Lorraine’s nomination for this award and Carol read out some of the comments made. They talked about how Lorraine has provided amazing opportunities for girls and volunteers over many years and described her as a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer who strives to enable all Girlguiding members to reach their potential while having lots of fun along the way.

Many congratulations Lorraine – you are a very worthy recipient of this award.
